The Galisteo Basin Preserve includes three conservation neighborhoods. New Moon Overlook, comprised of twenty dramatic view lots, is located along the northern rim of the Preserve. The West Basin, consisting of five equestrian homesteads, anchors the western boundary of the Preserve. Southern Crescent, with twenty-two home sites looking out across the Preserve's southern expanse, lies just south of the Village at Galisteo Basin Preserve.

The proposed Village is a mixed-use, mixed-income master-planned community that will include 965 housing units and home sites—30 percent of which will be available to low- and moderate-income households—as well as a wide range of community facilities and commercial resources.

Southern Crescent is located one mile west of State Highway 285, approximately 15 miles south of downtown Santa Fe, and 4.5 miles south of the Agora Center in Eldorado.
